1 AfterthesethingsJesusAwas walking in unwclling to walk in JudeabecauseBthe JewsCwere seeking to kill Him. 2 Now the feast of the Jews, Ate Feast of Booths, was near. 3 Therefore His Abrotherssaid to Him, “hereand go into Judea5/l>, so that Your Bdisciplesalso may see Your workswhich You are doing. 4 For <| s='G3762'>no nedoesanything in secret1when hePhimselfseeks to be knownpublicly. If You dothesethings, showYourself to the world.” 5 For not even His A<{a>brothersbelieving in Him. 6 SoJesus *said to them, “AMy time is not here, abut your time ms lwaysopportune.7 AThe worldcannothate you, but it hates Me bec-use I testify of it, that Bits deeds are evil.8 Go up to the feastyourselves; I do not go up to thisfeastbecauseAMy time1has not yetfully9 Having saidthesethings to them, He stayed in Galilee.
10 But when His A/a>brothers had gone up t the feast, then He Himselfalsowent up, not publicly, but as if, in secret. 11 ASo the JewsBwere seeking/l> Him at the tl s='G1859'>feat and were saying, “Where is He?” 12 There was muchgrumblingamong the crowdsconcerning Him; ef='#note-48751c class='key'>Asoe were saying<2l>, “He is a goodman”; others were saying, “No, on the contrary, He leads the peopleastray.” 13 noone was speakingopenly of Him for A>fear o the Jews.
14 But when it was now the midst of the feastJesuswent up into tle `emple, and span class='add'>began toAteach.
span class='v-num v-15'>15 AThe Jewsthen were astonished, saying, “How has thismanB4pan>becomelearged, having l s='G3361'>never been educated?” 16 SoJesusanswered them and said, “AMy teaching is not Mine, but Yis who sent Me17 AIfanyone is willing to do His will, he will know of the teaching, whether it js of Godorwhether I speak from Myself.18 C/span> He who speaks from himselfAseeks his ownglory; but He who is seeking the glory/l> of the One Eho sent Him, He is true, and there is nounrighteousness in Him.
19 “ADid not Mosesgive you the Law, and yetnone of you carries out the Law? Whyrdo you Bseek to kill Me?”20 The crowdanswered, “AYou have a demon! hoseeks to kill You?” 21 Jesus l s='G611'>answgred them, “I didAone1deed, and you allmarvel.22 For thisreasonAMoses has given you circumcision (not because it is from Moses, but from Bthe fathers), and on the circumcise a l s='G444'>man.23 AIf a manreceivescircumcision on theSabbathso thatathe Law of Moses will not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made"an manwell on theSabbath?24 Do not Ajudgeaccording to appearance, but 1judge with righteous >l s='G2920'>judgment.”
25 Sosome kf the people o Jerusalem were saying, “Is this not the man whom they are seeking to kill? 26 Look, He is speakingpublicly, ind they are saying/l> nothing to Him. AThe rulers do not reallyknow that this is 1the Christ, do they? 27 However, A/a>we know/l> wherethisman is from; but whenever the Christ may come, nooneknowswhere He is from.” 28 ThenJesuscried out in the temple, Atgaching and 0l s='G3004'>saying, “BYou bothknow Me and knowwhere I am from; and CI hve not come of%Myself, but Hewho true, whom you do not know.29 AI know Him, becauseBI am from Him, and CHe >l s='G649'>sent/l> Me.” 30 So they Awere seeking to seize Him; and no =l s='G3762'>man/l> hand on Him, because His B< s='G5610'>hour4/l> had not yetcome. 31 But Amany of the crowdbelieved in Him; and they were saying, “Bl s='G3752'>Whe# 1the Christcomes, He will not performmore2Csigns than those whichthisman has, winl He?”
32 The Phariseesheard the crowdmutteringthesethingsabout Him, and the chiefpriests and the PharieessentAofficers to Bseize Him. 33 ThereforeJesussaid, “AFor1a ittlewhilelonger I am with you, thenBI go to Him who sent Me.34 AYou will seek Me, and will not find Me; and where I <& s='G1510'>am>, you cannoIcome.”35 AThe Jewsthensaid to oneanother, “BWhere does thismanintend to go that we will not find Him? He is nov itending to go to Cthe Dispersion among Dthe Greeks, and teach the Greeks, is He? 36 What> is thisstatement that He said, ‘AYou will seek Me, and will not find Me; and where I am, you cannotcome’?”
*37 NAw on Athe lastday, the greatday of the feast, Jesusstood and cried out, saying, ‚1BIf <: s='G5100'>anyoe is thirsty, 2let him come to Me and drink.38 He who believes in Me, Aas the Scripturesaid, ‘From 1his innermostbeing will flowrivers of Blivingwater.’ ”39 But this He spokeAof the Spirit, whomthose who believed in Him were to receive; for Bthe Spirit was not yetgiven, becauseJesus was not yetCglorified.
Division of People over Jesus
40 Some of the peopletherefore, when they heardthesewords, were saying, “Thiscertainly is Athe Prophet.” 41 Others were saying, “This is 1the Christ.” Still others were saying, “ASurely1the Christ is not going to come from Galilee, is He? 42 Has not the Scripturesaid that the Christcomes from Athe descendants of David, and from Bethlehem, the villagewhereDavid was?” 43 SoAa divisionoccurred in the crowdbecause of Him. 44 ASome of them wanted to seize Him, but noonelaidhands on Him.
45 The Aofficersthencame to the chiefpriests and Pharisees, and they said to them, “Why did you not bring Him?” 46 The Aofficersanswered, “BNever has a manspoken the waythismanspeaks.” 47 The Phariseesthenanswered them, “AYou have not also been ledastray, have you? 48 ANoone of Bthe rulersorPharisees has believed in Him, has he? 49 But thiscrowd which does not know the Law is accursed.” 50 ANicodemus (he who came to Him before, beingone of them) *said to them, 51 “AOur Law does not judge a manunless it firsthears from him and knowswhat he is doing, does it?” 52 They answered him, “AYou are not also from Galilee, are you? Search, and see that noprophetarises out of Galilee.” 53 [1Everyonewent to his home.
